木子李·人土土·匕禾页c'est la vie 1月20日 First week in BrisbaneSo, the first week is over. Time sure passes fast, isnt it?
Work is okay, still learning the ropes.
Life is a bit boring, no friends, just a laptop.
Anyway I'm relieved and glad that the accomodation search is over, and I'll be moving in tomorrow.
It's a nice little unit in Wilston, and I can catch the train to work.
Wilston > Newmarket > Alderley > Enoggera
Will have no internet for a while, life is going to be miserable at night. O_o
But 3 weeks later I'll be going home for CNY, yeah, hohoho~ :) 1月15日 First day at workNoisy birds woke me up at 5, but I slept till 6 anyhow. Took the bus, then the train, and reached office by 8.
Time passes quicker than I thought. Especially during the morning.
Introductory stuff and umm, went to a substation site in Gold Coast... too bad not Movie World, hehe.
Had lunch in office. Food is provided in the tea room, haha, can save money on lunches, wahaha.
After that, study a bit about the construction plans, do a bit purchase orders, a bit project scheduling, and get familiar with the programs...
5 already. Time to go home. Hoho.
On the side note, been speaking English by all means since I stepped onto Brisbane soil. No Asians at workplace too. And always feverish at night, how come...

和我 一起写一个传说 一千个世纪 12月31日 Flashback of 2006In 2006...
It was my one last year to prove myself, to be doing better at uni. Yet, as a start, I'd decided to drop the honours unit. And, the fact is that my best grades was in my first year, then it never really get better than that. Oh well. Anyhow, I've graduated. On the bright side of it, I got my first job interview just before Christmas, and I was given the offer. A good Christmas gift, isnt it?
I lost more things than ever. My wallet, my ring. I got a new wallet, I never found the ring. And... one more which was the hardest bit.
Had the happiest and most memorable times in Sydney. Things may be different, but it'll remain the sweetest for as long as it can be.
Went for blood donation for the first time in my life. Had always wanted to go for it, but never get around near. O positive I am, hehe.
One long year of savings and much considerations, I finally got myself a DSLR. The time of buying was almost a sudden impulse but it was a good deal I could afford. Maybe I could have a start on this project soon, haha.
My whole family were here for my graduation, and together we went to Sydney and Melbourne for Christmas. For the first time, I let the tears came out of me in front of them when they were boarding at the airport.
I realized I love Hobart more than I thought. After 4 years of living in this city, it was no longer a stranger. Everything here is so familiar, I know the roads and places so well, the city has witnessed my growth as I have been with it. It is already a second home to me. I know I'll be missing here when I move next year.
Much I've changed. Gradually, no longer the person I used to be, for the good and bad.
I still believe, the wonder of life never fades for those who believe.

The year marks the end of my degree and my carefree student life, but it will also be the beginning of a new chapter, though I dunno whot to expect yet.

0030 Back home from work. Tired.
0100 Went to bed, trying to get some sleep before a long day ahead.
0400 Woke up after a mere 3-hour sleep.
0530 Head to airport... 9 degree C, cold...
0700 Fly~ To Sydney.
1000 Fly again~ Brisbane, here I come.
1030 Brisbane is so warm, 32 degree C. I feel like I'm in Malaysia! (There's a 1 hour time difference, it's actually 1130 in Hobart.)
1100 On board the Airtrain heading to city, need to change train at Bowen Hills to get to Enoggera (where FKG office is).
And... I got onto the wrong train... (really, whot a way to start with! O_o)
1200 Realizing I was on the wrong route, got off at the next station, and went back to Bowen Hills. This time, I got it right.
1300 Finally, I got off the train at Enoggera. The office is just outside the train station, too easy~
1315 Coincidentally the manager (Richard) is outside the office, he recognized that I must be Ruby, and showed me in.
1330 Met the other manager (Nick) and the engineer (Rob). So the talking starts...
"Why did you choose this career?"
"Tell me about your skills and work experience."
"Why do you choose this company?"

1430 "So, are you happy to take the offer?"

1445 Nick showed me around the office, and introduced me to the staff.
Was given a pile of documents and plans to read. My initiative, bad move! Anyway.
1530 Richard gave me a lift to airport, in case I get lost again! Haha..
1600 Reached airport. Finally can get some food to eat. Famished.
1630 Made a few phone calls. Good news. Happy happy.
1735 Fly back~ Melbourne. (Time changes again.)
2215 Last leg~ Hobart.
2315 Touched down. 13 degree C in Hobart. Whot a big difference.
0030 Reached home.
A long and tiring day. But it's a good one. :) 11月25日 XTiA month before Christmas, it's Thanksgiving.
Nothing on in Australia about Thanksgiving. It's not a holiday, and no one celebrates it.
I bet no one knows or cares about it either. It's just like any other ordinary day.
But all the way up north, in the United States, it's a big event, as big as Christmas.
Well, apart from a long weekend holiday, a sumptuous turkey feast, they have this massive sales going on.
7 hours from 5am to 12pm, prices are slashed heavily, makes it a dirt cheap bargain for everyone to grab.
People queued outside the store the night before, for this legendary once-in-a-year Thanksgiving sales.
Having a friend in the States, I'm so lucky.
I finally got my dream camera at a worthy price tag.
